7 Turmeric Face Masks for Different Skin Types

Turmeric has antiseptic, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties which make it a highly effective beauty ingredient.

The use of turmeric or haldi goes back to ancient India and Egypt. Known for thousands of years for its numerous benefits, turmeric continues to be used in many forms. It also has much to offer for the skin. It is widely used to exfoliate skin and is known to improve skin texture and skin complexion.

The presence of a compound curcumin in turmeric imparts brighter skin complexion. It has antiseptic, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties which make it highly effective to reduce many common skin conditions such as acne, rashes, pigmentation and blemishes. Not only does turmeric take care of scars and inflammation but it reduces oil secretion from sebaceous glands.

It also helps to naturally slow down the effects of ageing and restore youth. Continued use of turmeric diminishes the formation of creases and wrinkles.

For Dry Skin

Ingredients:

1tsp Cream

1tsp Sandalwood Powder

2 tsp Gram flour

1 tbsp Olive (for consistency)

½ tbsp Turmeric Powder

Method:

Mix all the ingredients to form a smooth paste without any lumps.

Apply this pack all over face , including neck.

Keep it for 15 – 20 mins (till it dries).

Rinse it off with luke warm water.

Note: Use this pack 2 – 3 times a week.

For Oily Skin

Ingredients:

1tblsp Yogurt

2 tbsp Fuller’s Earth

Rose Water (for consistency)

1tsp Turmeric Powder

Method:

Mix all the ingredients to form a smooth paste without any lumps.

Apply this pack all over face, including neck.

Keep it for 15 – 20 mins (till it dries).

Rinse it off with cold water.

Note: Repeat the process once a week.

For Sensitive Skin

Ingredients:

2 tblsp Fuller’s Earth

1tsp Yogurt

½ tbsp Aloe Vera Gel

1 tsp Turmeric Powder

Method:

Mix all the ingredients to form a smooth paste without any lumps.

Apply this pack all over face, including neck.

Keep it for 15 – 20 mins (till it dries).

Rinse it off with cold water.

Note: Repeat the process once a week.

For Dull Skin

Ingredients:

2 tsp Corn Starch

¼ tsp Turmeric Powder

1 tables Honey (for consistency)

Method:

Mix all the ingredients to form a smooth paste without any lumps.

For dry skin, slowly add Olive Oil to it. For oily skin add lemon juice and add yogurt to create a creamy mixture.

Apply this pack all over face, including neck.

Use A warm wet cloth to remove the mask.

Note: Repeat the process once a week.

For Glowing Skin

Ingredients:

¼  tbsp Turmeric Powder

½ tbsp Almond Oil

1 tbsp Lemon juice

1 tbsp Honey

1 tbsp Aloe Vera Gel

½ tsp Yogurt

3 Strands of Saffron

Rose Water (for consistency)

½ tsp Glycerin

1 tbsp Gram Flour

Method:

Mix all the ingredients to form a smooth paste without any lumps.

Apply this pack all over face, including neck.

Keep it for 15 – 20 mins (till it dries).

Wash your face with cold water and wipe it off with warm wet cloth.

Note: Repeat this process for 2 times a week.

For Acne Prone Skin

Ingredients:

1 tblsp Sandal Powder

Rose Water (for consistency)

1 tsp Turmeric Powder

Method:

Mix all the ingredients to form a smooth paste without any lumps.

Apply this pack all over face, including neck.

Keep it for 15 – 20 mins (till it dries).

Rinse it off with cool water.

Note: Repeat process 2 times a week.

To Reduce Pigmentation

Ingredients:

1 tblsp Turmeric Powder

1 tblsp Lemon Juice

Method:

Mix all the ingredients to form a smooth paste without any lumps.

Apply this pack all over face, including neck.

Keep it for 15 – 20 mins (till it dries).

Scrubbing gently, rinse it off with cool water.

Note: Regular application of this paste will help you effectively combat pigmentation.
